The brief

HC-One brought together 479 of their home managers and support teams, for a two-day residential conference, their biggest leadership event to date. With a focus on fostering emotional connections, the conference aimed to share their vision, celebrate achievements, and spark momentum for the future. And it didn’t stop there; a gala dinner, and plenty of fun activities, brought a little magic to the evening at the end of day one.

Our approach

A 14m x 3.5m LED wall set the stage, bringing the conference content to life, while a camera relay ensured every delegate had a clear view. And for the first time, sustainability took centre stage, marking HC-One’s first step towards sustainable event practices – a benchmark to measure future initiatives against.

We partnered closely with HC-One’s internal design team to create an event programme that balanced all elements of the brief. Here’s how we brought “Even Better Together”, to life: 

  • Collaborative content creation: We worked together to develop the event theme and branding, bringing in recognition moments to highlight each success story along the way.
  • Storytelling at its core: The programme was designed to strike a chord with attendees through powerful videos, real-time feedback, and fireside chats with leadership.
  • Interactive learning zones: On day two, we set up three “Learning Zones”, focused on the company’s priorities, where attendees could dive deeper, chat with area leads, and explore ideas, first hand.
  • Inspirational guests and personal hosts: An external guest speaker shared their journey of resilience after a life-changing accident, while internal hosts added warmth and familiarity to sessions.
  • Customised experience: From a purpose-built lounge for quiet reflection, to an onsite app for personalised agendas and live updates, every detail was created to make attendees feel at home – and right where they belonged
  • Unity was brought into every element, from branded materials to the gala dinner – and, of course, we made sure the mirror photo booth caught every unforgettable moment (and a fair few impromptu dance-offs). 
As the dust settles on another incredible two days, I just wanted to share my personal thanks for all your help at this year’s *Even Better Together* event. Speaking to so many of our colleagues, the feedback has been incredible. It never ceases to amaze me how these events come together, and you and your team were (once again) central to this – thank you for all the work and effort you’ve put into every part. I’m all too aware that it’s not just about the day, but the weeks and months before, working with our design team to turn ideas and thinking into reality. Thank you for your time and dedication to making this event our very best yet.

The Result.

The event was a big win, achieving the goal of engaging and inspiring the whole team. Despite some complex topics, the content struck the right chord, while the social elements added balance, making the conference as productive, as it was enjoyable.
